The Masks We Wear
A Day of Yoga Therapy, Art Therapy & Self-Discovery
Details Below
10am - 4pm Loreto College Hatfield Rd, St Albans AL1 3RQ Yoga and Art Therapy: Nurturing the Whole Self Yoga Therapy and Art Therapy offer a unique, holistic approach to nurturing the whole self, body, mind and emotions. Together, they create an illuminating opportunity to turn inward, develop greater self-awareness and explore your place in an ever-changing and increasingly complex world. By combining yoga therapy with art therapy, we are encouraged to explore AND express our felt experiences with movement and creativity. Sometimes the body knows something and understands feelings before the mind can make sense of it. At other times, thoughts and emotions may feel difficult to understand or put into words. Through mindful movement, breath, creative expression and art-making, experiences that may be difficult to verbalise can begin to emerge and be explored. As yoga and art are both experience-based practices, rather than purely intellectual ones. They can support us in gently processing physical sensations, emotions, thoughts and life experiences with curiosity and loving compassion. This integrated approach to yoga and art can help you reconnect with your body, your feelings, holding patterns through creativity, deepen self-understanding. It offers time and space to slow down, explore what is happening within and discover new ways of relating to yourself and the world around you.
