I had a lovely week on a retreat in Devon with Paula. I cannot tell you how wonderful it was. I felt a shift and came back feeling purely cleansed of any toxins/negativity in my mind & body. I had time for me to reflect and gain clarity. Frequently asked questions

Do I need yoga experience to join a retreat? No, not at all, just a willingness to learn. Paula's retreats welcome all levels, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Sessions are adapted so everyone can take part at their own pace. Many beginner's have joined my retreats in the past and become fallen in love with yoga as a result.

What is a yoga, qigong and meditation retreat? It's a retreat combining yoga practice, gentle qigong movement, and meditation or breathwork, usually set in a peaceful natural location away from everyday distractions. Retreat depending, we might start the day with a short qigong sessions, (outside if it's nice weather), we will then explore a morning yoga practice. The evening sessions offer slower restorative yoga sessions, sometimes offering in a fusion of yoga & qigong together. There is always breathwork & meditation or relaxation practices in each session as well as some inner self enquiry for those who enjoy this type of inner work.

How do I join the waiting list for a fully booked retreat? Contact Paula directly, cancellations happen fairly often, and waiting list spaces are offered on a first-come basis.

Can I come on the retreat alone? Yes , the majority of guests come alone. The retreat is structured to feel immediately social (communal meals, group practice, shared experiences) while still protecting plenty of quiet alone-time. Twin-shared rooms are available at a lower price for solo travellers happy to share; single occupancy is also available.

I'm nervous about going alone will I feel out of place? It's completely usual to feel nervous beforehand, and most guests arrive solo. Groups bond quickly over shared meals, walks and practice, you'll be surrounded by people in exactly the same position as you, with no pressure to be anyone but yourself. Once people experience retreats they tend to love the solo experience.

What should I pack for a yoga retreat? Comfortable, breathable yoga clothing, a reusable water bottle, sun protection, layers for cooler evenings, and a journal if you'd like one. A yoga mat usually isn't essential as most retreat venues provide one, but bring your own if you have a preference.

Do I need to be fit or flexible to attend? No. Retreats are accessible to all fitness and flexibility levels, yoga and qigong sessions are gentle and adaptable, and you're encouraged to rest or modify any movement that doesn't feel right for your body.

What's the difference between a UK retreat and an overseas retreat? UK retreats (such as Scotland) are ideal if you want a shorter break, while overseas retreats (Spain, Turkey, Morocco, Slovenia) offer a longer escape with guaranteed warmth, different scenery, and more time to fully unwind. Both follow the same approach to yoga, qigong and meditation.

What's included in the retreat price? This varies by retreat , typically accommodation, all daily yoga/qigong/meditation sessions, and most meals are included. Some retreats include extra but optional activities for example, crafting, an evening talk, dance class, guided walk. Full details are listed on each individual retreat page, or get in touch for specifics.

What does a typical day on retreat look like? Days are structured but unhurried , usually a morning yoga, qigong or meditation session, a relaxed breakfast, free time to walk, rest or explore, then an afternoon or evening session. You're never doing yoga "all day" there's always plenty of downtime built in.

Will I have to do yoga the entire time? No. Most retreats include one or two guided sessions a day, with the rest of the time free for rest, walking, swimming, journaling or simply doing nothing. It's like a holiday but with structure, a lot of heart and not a yoga boot camp.

What is NOT included? Flights, travel, transfers to and from the airport or station in either countries, travel insurance (essential), optional massages, optional excursions and transport for them, and any meals & drinks on optional excursions.

Can dietary requirements and allergies be accommodated? Yes, let Paula know about any dietary needs, allergies or health conditions when you book, so meals and sessions can be adapted to suit you in advance.

Will I have phone signal or wifi? This varies by venue, but most retreats have wifi. You are always welcome to digital detox if you prefer.
